Stansted and Heathrow are on opposite sides of London, about 70 miles apart by the M25. There are three ways across: a direct coach, trains through central London, or a car. The coach is the cheapest, but it runs to a timetable and usually takes two hours or more. By train you ride into Liverpool Street and then cross London to Heathrow, which is fine with a backpack and hard work with suitcases.
A pre-booked car goes straight round the M25, usually in 75 to 100 minutes, from the arrivals hall at one airport to the departures drop-off at the other.
