Most flights from the US land at Heathrow early in the morning after an overnight flight, with airlines such as British Airways, American, United, Delta and Virgin Atlantic. From Heathrow, the drive to central London usually takes 45 to 75 minutes by car, depending on traffic — the morning rush can add a little time.
After passport control and baggage claim, the last thing you want is the taxi queue or working out the trains with your suitcases.
