What it costs to stop at the terminal, how to pay, where to wait for arriving passengers, and the easier way.
London Southend Airport has an Express Pick-up and Drop-off area directly opposite the terminal: £8 per visit for up to 10 minutes. Entry and exit are barrierless — cameras record the car — and you pay online after you leave, by midnight the following day.
Ten minutes is the maximum stay. If a passenger needs special assistance and more time, the airport advises not to use the Express area but one of the car parks instead.
Waiting for an arriving flight? Use a car park, not the Express area. The Budget car park (formerly Mid Stay) costs £12 for up to 30 minutes, £25 for 30–60 minutes and £35 for 1–2 hours. The Superior car park (formerly Short Stay), directly opposite the terminal, costs £25 for up to 10 minutes and £80 for anything longer, up to 24 hours. In both car parks you pay at the machines before you leave.
